How-To Tips – Projection Television Location

How to position the TV

While the protective shield prevents damage to the screen, it is still a reflective surface. Therefore, we recommended that you try to avoid having the set face large bright windows that reflect directly into the screen. Position the TV directly in front of the primary viewing area. The ability to control lighting around the TV can help to create a satisfying "home theatre" environment.

How to determine the correct viewing distance

In the early days of projection television it was recommended that the best viewing distance was 6 to 10 feet away, and as close to center as possible. However, projection television technology has come a long way. And in Hitachi's case, it's come a lot further than most. Because of our high-output CRT and lens systems and advanced screen designs, you can enjoy a high contrast image with high brightness from center to corner with a high-resolution picture from any distance, anywhere in the room.
