Most new audio systems are designed with Home Theater in mind. That means they have special inputs to accommodate the video system. Many feature Dolby Surround,® Dolby Pro Logic,® Dolby Digital® or other three-dimensional sound processing to enhance the viewing and listening experience. You can buy systems that come complete with a receiver and all the necessary speakers - generally left/right main speakers, center channel speaker, left/right rear surround speakers and a subwoofer. Or you can buy a high performance AV receiver and pick your speaker components.
Most Hitachi televisions come with an ample built-in audio system. However some viewers prefer to either augment the built-in system, or use an entirely separate home theatre audio setup. You can simply connect the set to your existing audio system. Use RCA jacks to connect the audio outputs on the back of the TV to the AUX inputs of your audio receiver. Be sure to position the speakers at an equal distance from both sides of the TV. If the speakers aren't magnetically shielded, it's a good idea to keep them a few feet from the set, as they could affect the picture.
