Hitachi introduces the ultimate in high definition recording with the DZ-BD7H Hybrid Blu-ray Disc (BD) & Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Camcorder. The new DZ-BD7H can record approximately one hour of 1920x1080 full high-definition video (two hours of 1440x1080 high definition video) on a 8cm Blu-ray disc and up 4 hours of 1920x1080 full high-definition video on the 30GB HDD (eight hours of 1440x1080 high definition video). The DZ-BD7H also supports standard definition recording to DVD-RAM/-R/-RW discs and the ability to capture 4.32 megapixel still photos to SD memory card.

Watching your movies is just as easy as recording them too. The DZ-BD7H provides a weath of playback options on the following supported equipment: Blu-ray and DVD players, video games consoles, TV (via HDMI, component or AV/S cable) and on computer (via USB or optical drive).

True FULL HD Recording and Saving

Hitachi’s Original Hybrid B D+ HDD Camcorder – Combines the Capacity of a Hard Disk Drive with the Convenience of Blu-ray Disc

The Hybrid camcorder offers both Blu-ray and an onboard Hard Disk Drive, giving you the options of recording HD video directly to a Blu-ray Disc or saving even longer movies on the Hard Disk Drive and storing them later on a Blu-ray Disc. It's an ingenious system that lets you choose the right media for the time and place you're shooting.

Hi-speed Dubbing from the Hard Disk Drive

The Hybrid camcorder also lets you transfer video quickly and directly to a Blu-ray Disc from the Hard Disk Drive in Full HD quality, with no PC or other equipment necessary. It couldn't be simpler, and the 2x dubbing speed makes it even faster. Everything you shoot is preserved just the way you remember it, with no loss of image quality during dubbing.

World’s First 8cm BD/DVD Drive Supporting BD and DVD

Hitachi developed a compact, low power consuming, and reliable 8cm BD/DVD drive which corresponds to 5 kinds of 8cm discs; BD-RE/-R, DVD-RAM/-RW/-R. The 8cm Blu-ray Disc is capable of recording approximately 1 hour of 1920 x 1080 Full HD video so that you can store your treasured moments forever. Using DVD discs, Blu-ray Disc camcorder allows wide playback compatibility with home DVD player. With DVD-RW, you can choose between video mode for compatibility with DVD players, or VR (Video Recording) mode for easier editing.

5.3 Megapixel CMOS Sensor

The 5.3 megapixels CMOS sensor offers 2.07 megapixels (effective) for video mode (16x9) and 4.32 megapixels (effective) for still photos (4x3). This high-performance CMOS sensor captures greater detail and beauty in both 1920 x 1080 Full HD video and still photo modes.

High Definition Lens

12 element in 9-group, 18-sided multicoated lens has been developed especially for the Hitachi Blu-ray Disc camcorder. This lens achieves superb image quality by reducing ghosting and flaring, while its size is kept to a minimum by its highly refractive glass.

HDMI and USB Connectivity

Both of our Blu-ray Disc camcorders feature HDMI and USB ports. Using the HDMI cable, connect the camera to a compatible TV to play the Full HD movies you've taken on a large screen. Using the USB port enables easy communication with your computer.
